Welcome to my online portfolio. Here I can share the things which inspire me to make art. You can also find a link to my blog,
For me, art has the power to recreate a moment in time, to take me straight back to a special place. It can evoke a mood, lift the spirits and bring joy. The sheer pleasure of enjoying wonderful colours and interesting textures is part of that experience and I hope that this is reflected in my work.
My main interest is in the landscape, particularly the sea, lochs and the urban spaces around my home city of Glasgow.
Preparatory work is normally developed from location sketches and photographs, with the paintings carried out in the studio in acrylic or oil,. Sometimes I use collage mixed media.
Images of paintings or prints are displayed on the website without frames but are normally sold either mounted and wrapped, or framed and ready to hang.
My Instagram site gives some idea of scale and context, most recently through my solo exhibition at Nicolls Gallery in Partick in 2025.
